Bamboo products can be used indoor and outdoor, when used outdoor it is very important to do regular maintenance just like any outdoor wood, metal products. Washing the bamboo furniture with detergence mixed with anti mildew additive is strongly encourage at least once every 6 months, more may be needed if you live in wet climate, also location of the bamboo pieces is very critical due the fact that mildew will occur easily when bamboo is under wet condition for a extended period of time. Cover or move the bamboo furniture indoor during off season is also one of the better way to prolong your life of your bamboo furniture outdoor.

Our bamboo products are made of natural bamboo with coats of outdoor varnish. In strong sunlight, the varnish will breakdown and the bamboo will begin to weather.

Many customers prefer the natural aged look of bamboo with weathers much like the cedar wood, first getting darker and ending up a silver grey color.

We recommend coating the bamboo with UV protected outdoor varnish once per year, preferably at the end of summer to maintain color.

Bamboo should last many years in outdoor. Avoid direct contact with the earth to prevent rot.

Please observe and following these steps to maintain your bamboo products

1. Bamboo is going to split, this the nature of bamboo, it is ok for bamboo to split and still maintain the structural integrity of the bamboo products. However it is important prevent it from further splitting by tightly tie both end of the split section using galvanized or copper wire.

2. You need to properly cleaning the bamboo structure just like the wood lumber, cleaning it with lightly detergent solution is good, and consider putting a coating of linseed oil (mixed with 50% thinner) is recommended.

3. Proper setting of bamboo products is also important, anything you could do to take them away from extreme weather or temperature variation as much as possible, like direct sunlight, rain, no though they will last in outdoor, but they will not last forever, so anything you can do is going to help.

4. Try to place your bamboo furniture away near the heater, or location where temperature variation is concern.

5. Regular washing and cleaning of bamboo products outdoor with detergent and outdoor anti mildew solution.

6. Move or cover the bamboo furniture during off season.
