Bamboo is a rapidly renewable materials that are suitable as fencing material if properly used. You can use green bamboo or processed bamboo which is clean, dry and treated with boric acid to minimize rotting in outdoor.

You can practically use bamboo timber to build any style of bamboo fencing, post and rail, privacy, or just use them as a bamboo poles fence wall, pre build bamboo fence panels are obviously more convenient if you do not have the time or skill to build your own bamboo fence.

One of most easily and inexpensive way to build your bamboo fencing is to use rolled bamboo fence, you can just unroll  the fence and tie them to the supporting structure, the structure could be your trees or erected posts. Rolled bamboo is strung together with galvanized wires, they are flex and could go around a corner easily.

Pre build bamboo fence panels need to be installed with posts and secure like the wood fence panels. It usually require at least two people to do it. Although bamboo is relatively rot resistant, it doesn't last all that long when in contact with the ground, so you don't want to bury or cement them in the ground the way you would install a cedar post. If you really want to bury the bamboo posts into the ground, you should apply a coating of driver way tar sealer to the section to be buried.

To work with bamboo, first thing to remember is to pre drill a holes, do not force a nail or screw through a bamboo poles, you will split it, use galvanized wire wherever possible to tie and secure the bamboo poles to the joints. Bore out the holes using a keyhole saw attached to a drill if you need holes for the bamboo. They come in very handy for projects like this, and they come in several different diameter saw blades. First place the bit in the pilot hole, which is drilled to keep the bamboo from splitting, and slowly increase the power. Be sure that you drill all the way through the post, and continue to drill until all five posts are finished.

Bamboo fencing need regular maintenance like any other fences, power wash it once a year and putting a coating of outdoor sealer will help too.
